The strongest possible foundations

The Low End Orchestra consists mainly of orchestral instruments, but not always those you'll encounter very often. Everything is in the bass-register — no trumpet, no violin, and certainly no piccolo.

The sound of 22 celli playing together at AIR Lyndhurst is something very special. The woodwinds include some wonderfully rich and rare instruments, such as the contra-alto flute and contrabass clarinet. A fantastically powerful brass section adds a raucous punch, and the re-amped analog synth patches allow you to stack your sub-bass.

The Low End Orchestra makes movement a playable tool for composing and writing music. Each movement is a performance — each one is a device for you to weave motion into your productions.

If you're mixing in stereo, the X axis movements are especially effective, and the Y axis gives you shifting timbres and control over depth and diffusion. If you're mixing in atmos, surround, or any other spatial audio system, your possibilities are limitless.

We set out from scratch to create a contemporary sound. Arranging the players symmetrically gave us the best canvas to create the moving sounds we had in our minds — and thus the re-imagined orchestra came to life.

The room, the specific instruments, the size of the ensembles, the positioning… everything is carefully considered to create an intensely powerful but nuanced and emotional sound.
